This gala-style fundraiser happens in mid-June on a date near the longest day of the year. Each year it gets custom branding with a sunset-inspired color palette.
For the 2019 event, a hand-lettered script was paired with a typewriter font to represent the storytelling theme. The script was created and animated in Procreate.
The mailed invitation for the 2019 event featured a die cut design representing the shape of the building at the Washington Park branch. It was unusual for the event to be held at that location so we made it a prominent feature in the design.
The 2020 event was held via zoom due to the pandemic. It was important to keep a sense of fun a magic with the branding while highlighting the virtual format.
Animated versions of the logo were used in digital promotions, the event website, and during the virtual event itself.
